Myra Jean Hodges

Myra Jean Hodges: age 96 went to her heavenly home on: August 25, 2025. Myra passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Sebring, Florida with her family by her side.
Born in Enterprise, Alabama on Sept 23, 1928, to Foster and Nora (Adams) Knight, her family moved to Hardee County when Myra was 5yrs old.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband R.J. Hodges, JR, parents Foster and Nora (Adams) Knight, sisters Myrl Sheffield and Mary Vernon Brothers Buford Knight, Hubert Knight and Sam Knight: Survived by her son Mike Hodges of Wauchula, Florida, daughter Kathy Bigelow of Sebring, Florida, grandson Christopher Bigelow of Sebring, Florida and great grandsons Leland Wood and Cayden Bigelow and several nieces and nephews.

Myra was a kind, caring, loyal, hard working woman of faith who devoted her life to her family and Pentecostal faith. Myra got saved at age l4 and served her Lord throughout her life. Always active in her Church she taught Adult and children Sunday School, Treasurer and Director of the Food bank. Currently was a Member of Faith Temple Church of God in Wauchula Florida.

Myra had many jobs throughout the years including Midway Cafe, Knight's Restaurant, Ferguson drug Store, meat cutter at A+ P Grocery, manager of 7-11 Convivence store, school crossing quard and retired at age of 76 from Hardee County School board after 16 years' service at Wauchula Elementary School Cafeteria. Myra was loved and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Wauchula, Florida on Saturday August 30, 2025.
Viewing will begin at 10:00am-11:00am, services at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Wauchula City Cemetery Pastor Wendell Smith of Faith Temple Church of God will officiate the service.
