Mona N. Diamond, age 85, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Arcadia. She was born September 10, 1923 in Brigstock, England and moved to Arcadia 55 years ago from Miami, Fl. Mona was married 64 wonderful years to her husband Brooke, and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the VIP (Visional Impaired Persons), Mona was an accomplished seamstress making men s trouser for a clothing factory in England. She was drafted during WW2 in the Women s Land Army to assist during wartime. Mona worked for G. Pierce Woods Hospital as a mailroom clerk. Her favorite music was church hymns, Mona loved her Lord and church, she was a member of the St. Edmunds Episcopal Church in Arcadia. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Brooke Diamond of Arcadia,Fl., one son Nicholas B. (Charlana) Diamond of Arcadia, Fl. one daughter April M. Hodges of Arcadia, Fl., four grand children, Dennis, Kallie, Ericka, and Aiden, numerous nieces and nephews. Mona was preceded in death by her parents Jo and Eliza Swan, one brother Dennis Swan and three sisters Marjorie Goodson, Nora Moyer and Daphney Bell. and her son in law Wayne Hodges. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM Wednesday November 12, 2008 at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Thursday November 13, 2008 at St. Edmunds Episcopal Church 327 W. Hickory St., Arcadia, Fl. with Father Jim Williamson officiating.
