Minnie Roberta (Zerr) Purdy of Ft. Ogden, Florida passed away on October 12, 2022. Minnie was born in Morning Sun, Ohio on November 27, 1924. She had lived in the community for 65 years. She graduated from Short High School in 1943. She was the High School Valedictorian at her graduation ceremony. One of her many accomplishments is that she had donated 9+ gallons of blood during her lifetime.

Minnie was a bookkeeper and was employed by Brown's Machine Company in Punta Gorda, Florida.

She was a member of the Fort Ogden United Methodist Church and a 40+ year member of the Silver Sneakers. She and her sister Irma enjoyed both domestic and international travel! She was an avid reader and was a humble, quiet, resolved person. She demonstrated great personal control and she consistently faced and overcame obstacles with grace. She was a faithful lover of Christ Jesus.

She is survived by her children, Daniel C. Purdy, Gainesville, Georgia, Linda M. Keenan, White Bluff, Tennessee and Carol Purdy of Fort Ogden, Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and nephew, Ship.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James R. Purdy and all of her siblings; John Zerr, Robert Zerr, Raymond Zerr, Wilma Handley, and Irma Fath.

The Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 10:00AM – 12:00PM at the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady, 50 North Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida.  The Graveside service will follow at 12:45PM at Fort Ogden Cemetery.
