Merle Moore Davis age 80 of Ona, passed away Friday, September 09, 2011 in Lakewood Ranch, FL. She was born February 18, 1931 in Hardee County and was a long resident. Merle was a proud ranch owner and enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and was very active in her church New Zion Baptist in Ona. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Billy) Roberts of Wauchula, Jan (John) Platt of Zolfo Springs, Susan Carlton of Ona; one son David (Sandra) Moore of Wauchula; five grandchildren, Alisha Moore (Anthony) Evans, Daniel Roy (Meg) Moore, Julie Platt (Daniel) Cook, Jaime Platt (Jason) Carnley, Lynn Roberts (Markus) Robinson; and one great-grandchild Brody Cook. Merle was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy H Moore, two grandchildren Billy Madison Roberts, Todd Johnson; and her parents Madison and Hazel Bryan Long. Her visitation was from 2pm 3pm, Sunday, September 11, 2011 at New Zion Baptist Church with Services at 3pm with Pastors Stephen Darley and Chris Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery.
