Melvin H. Hartsel 76, of Arcadia, Florida passed away May 04, 2008 in Sarasota, FL. He was born January 22, 1932 in Fortuna, Michigan and was a winter resident for twenty-two year before moving to Arcadia three years ago from Toledo Ohio. Melvin served in the U.S. Army; he earned his Bachelor s Degree from the University of Toledo, and received his Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1956. He was an avid golfer and a retired school teacher. Melvin is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Hartsel, Arcadia; one son, Doug (Candi) Hartsel, Ellenton, FL.; seven grand children Danielle, Derek, Matthew, William, Michael, Robert, Dylan, one great-granddaughter Lexianna; two brothers Don (Judy) Hartsel, Sylvania, OH, Jim (Bette) Hartsel; and one sister, Lois Alt, Toledo, OH. Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 08, 2008 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 50 N Hillsborough Ave in Arcadia, FL.
