Mary E. Wood, age 70, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 11, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 26, 1939 in Lakeland, GA., moving to Arcadia as a small child where she has remained as a lifetime resident. Mary was of the Church of God faith and a member of Upper Room Church of God, Brownville, FL. Mary was a very loving and caring mother and Nana and will be missed by her family very much. She spent her life devoted to her love for the Lord, and her family. Mary enjoyed listening to Southern gospel music. She is survived by two daughters, Debra E. (Daniel) Longenecker of Avon Park, FL and Chrystal K.( Wade) Williams, of Arcadia, FL., one brother Rev. William "Bill" H. (Pam) Wooten of Jacksonville, FL. and two sisters, Marilyn (Chet) Lake, of Fort Pierce, FL., and June Carol Wooten of Arcadia, FL., four grandchildren, Nichole Newton, Wade Williams II, Christopher Williams, and Zackary Williams, and three Great-grandchildren, Jordan Newton, Wade Will Williams III and Ashton Williams. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Sammie Wood, her parents Robert (Bob) and Retha M. Knight Wooten and one sister Shirley Ann Johnston. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Upper Room Church of God, 5241 NE Highway 17, Brownville, FL. with Rev. Rufus Caraway, Rev. William Wooten and Rev.
