Mary Alice
Thomas
January 9, 1934 – December 12, 2025
Mary Alice Thomas was a beautiful woman who was loved by many. Mary Alice was born in Florida and a resident of central Florida for 65 years with the majority of that time being spent in Hardee County.
Her main focus was her family. Mary Alice moved to Wauchula and married a cute cowboy named Henry Clarence Gibbs. Mary Alice and Henry were involved in Florida's citrus and cattle industry. Mary Alice also worked for United Telephone Systems for 34 years where she built many lasting friendships.
Mary Alice had a son who shared his daddy's name, Henry Clarence Gibbs Jr. After her loving cowboy passed, God sent Mary Alice Mr. Gene Thomas. He adored Mary Alice, and he took great care of Henry. Gene and Mary Alice loved going to the mountains of North Carolina and enjoyed a trip of a lifetime as they traveled out west to see her family in Oklahoma and visited Yellowstone National Park.
Mary Alice's son, Henry married Diana Breeze, and they gave her two grandchildren, Colton Thomas Gibbs and Lillian Grace Gibbs. Mary Alice moved to Auburn, Alabama and doted on her grandchildren. She went to every sporting event, dance recital, and school program. She liked sitting in front of her home and visiting with her sweet neighbors on her cul de sac. Parkway Baptist Church was Mary Alice's second family. Sitting with her pew mates each Sunday brought her much joy, and she always bragged on how the congregation took such good care of her.
Mary Alice is celebrating now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She entered eternity Friday, December 12th at 3:30 in Auburn, Alabama. She would have been 92 years old in January.
She is survived by her sister Nettie Mae Franklin, Mike and Lisa Thomas, Mike and Claire Thomas Jr., Genea and Kevin Fittro, Chris Antillian, Janet and Dale Beckham, Joseph Beckham, Natalie and Scott Parsley, Pete and Tonya Grice, Mikayla (Sanford) and Craig McLaulin, many nieces and nephews and her son Henry and his wife Diana along with their children, Colton and Lilly Grace.
