Mary Ellen Houser from Arcadia, Florida passed away at the age of 84, in Sarasota, Florida. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina on April 20, 1939 to James H. and Josie F. Mauldin. She was a member of The Apostolics of Arcadia. Mary retired from G.P.W., and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, and spending time with her family.

She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, caring, kindhearted, and Godly woman. She was also known for her generosity, kindness and passion for helping others.

Mary is survived by her children Melissa (Buddy) Norris from Arcadia, Florida, Jeffery (Heide) Houser from Riverview, Florida, Teresa Murphy and Jimmy Young from Arcadia, Florida, Melinda (Buddy) Suggs from Arcadia, Florida, Michelle Shattles from Arcadia, Florida, and James (Jewell) Houser from Arcadia, Florida. Mary has seventeen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and seven great- great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Josie Mauldin, husband James Houser, Brothers Bill Mauldin, Charles Mauldin and Leroy Mauldin.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 at The Apostolics of Arcadia at 205 S. Luther Ave. From 10-11am with the service to follow. Bishop Kennedy and Pastor Sears will be officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
