Mary Caroline Funderburk, age 93, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away Feb. 21, 2009 in Arcadia, Fl. Mary was born in Richmond, IN January 29, 1916 and had lived in Arcadia since 1980, moving here from Miami, Fl. Mary graduated from business college and began a career in bookkeeping.. She maintained the books for Dayton Buick for five years, and at one time, she was keeping the books for three businesses at a time. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church, Arcadia. She dearly loved her church family and was active in the functions of the church in her younger years. She loved her family and, spending quality time with them, when she was able. She was a devoted Christian mother and wife., who never met a stranger.. Survivors are her two daughters, Lee Ann (Charles) Milton, Arcadia and Janet Lynn(Luis) Gomez, Lexington, SC. five grand children, Julie Milton and T. J. Milton both of Arcadia Jacquelyn Gomez, Tatiana Gomez, and Nicholas Gomez, all of Lexington, SC. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas Jackson Kolb Funderburk, Jr. in 1983. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Joshua Creek Cemetery with Rev. Richard Englert officiating.
