Mary Eleanor Farr, age 86, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 in Arcadia. She was born February 22, 1925 in Punta Gorda, FL. and a lifetime resident of the area. Mary was of the Baptist faith. Mary will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was always very kind and caring to everyone she would meet. Mary was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, loved flowers and gardening and had a huge soft spot for helping animals. She is survived by two daughters; Eleanor L. Mayo and Mary Jane (Ray) Dennison both of Arcadia, FL.; one son James D. (Linda) Farr of Cape Coral, FL, five grandchildren; Jenny Mayo, Bret Mayo, James Mayo, Lisa Carstens, and Barbara Lynch; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Frederick M. and Bertha L. Padgett Bell, four brothers and three sisters. A visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral Services will be Friday, 3:00PM following the visitation at the chapel. Burial will be at Pine Level Campground Cemetery.
