Martha R. Gosda, age 73, passed away Wednesday, March 03, 2010 in Arcadia. She was born July 12, 1936 in Lincoln, IL and moved to Arcadia fifteen years ago from Lincoln. She was of the Presbyterian faith and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia. Martha was a graduate of Delmar College in Corpus Christi, TX obtaining her AA and AS Degrees, was an RN for 22 years and retired her working career at Lincoln Developmental Center in Lincoln, IL. Martha was also active in many organizations, Elks Lodge No 1524, Arcadia, FL, Nyla Temple # 152 & Daughters of the Nile, Venice, FL, Sar-I Court # 79, Bradenton, FL. Martha enjoyed painting, writing letters and stories and traveling. She is survived by two sons, Roger (Sally) Gosda of Lincoln, Il and Richard (Allison) Gosda of Hickory, NC, two daughters Ruth (Jeffery) Trimble of Bakersfield, CA and Susan (Neil) Napolitano of Bloomington, IL, two brothers Bill Gardner of Farmer City, Il and Tom Gardner of Springfield, IL, one sister Mary Jo Gardner of Arcadia, FL., nine grandchildren Chris, Kelly and Katie Gosda, Luke and Joel Gosda, Amanda Trimble, Sam Matthew and Michael Napolitano and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 24 years; Ralph A. Gosda, parents John P. and Wanda Kirby Gardner. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Martha s life will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 4:00PM in Frangle Hall located at the First Presbyterian Church, 209 W. Hickory St., Arcadia.
