Marion Ruth Ola, age 86, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. She was born July 16, 1924 in Junction City, KY. and returned to Arcadia with her husband Col. George J. Ola in 1960. Marion was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia. Ruth was a graduate of Desoto High School, Class of 1941. Ruth was known best for a person that gave of her time, she was a volunteer for Desoto Memorial Hospital, First Presbyterian Church and a tutor at the schools. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling with her friends. Ruth also loved to express herself through painting and kept her mind active working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son Roy Ola of Redondo Beach, CA; her daughter Debi (Jack) Kidd of Largo, FL; granddaughter Shelly (Jason) Harrington of Frisco, TX; great granddaughter Willow Rose Harrington of Frisco, TX; brother Arnold Pemberton; beloved Aunt Christine Cochran of Arcadia and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband George J. Ola, Col. U.S. A.F., Ret .in 1999 and a sister Geneva Watson. A celebration of Ruth s Life and Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia, 209 W.
