Maria Catalina Vasquez Guardiola, age 90, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at her home in Houston, MS. She was born April 30, 1931, in Mexico to the late Margarito Vasquez and Domitila Banda Vasquez.

She was a member of Iglesia De Dias Nueva Vida Church. Catalina had a calling and one of her greatest passions was ministering others and teaching the gospel. She tried living life as a good Christian, she enjoyed talking about her savior and spreading the word of the gospel. She loved to sew and was an amazing cook. Catalina was a strong warrior, patient, kind, family-oriented, respectful, hardworking, and generous.

Her family will remember her as a loving, caring, and giving mother, and putting her family first. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart.

She is survived by three sons; Gonzalo Guardiola, Jr. (Maria) of MS, Serapio (Juana) Guardiola of GA, Margarito Guardiola of VA; four daughters, Guadalupe Sambrano of FL, Catalina Villasana (Jose) of MS, Sonia Robuck (Steve) of GA, Marisela Limon (Lucio) of FL; thirty-two grandchildren; six generations of over a hundred greatgrandkids; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Margarito Vasquez and Domitila Banda Vasquez; her husband, Gonzalo Guardiola, Sr.; two daughters, Angela Guardiola and Leonor Guardiola; a son, Jose Dimas Guardiola; a sister, Maria Mares.

A Visitation will be held Monday, October 25, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 205 N. 9 ^th Ave., Wauchula., Florida.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm at the chapel with Pastor Alfonso Fernandez officiating. Burial will be in Wauchula City Cemetery.
