Margie Purvis Griffin passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, she was born on July 15, 1937, in Winter Haven, FL to Kermit Purvis and Leone Chaudoin.

She graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1955; she retired from Bay Laundry and was a Dry Cleaner by occupation.

Margie enjoyed watching baseball, playing Bunco with the girls, Bingo and word puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved her cat, “Precious”.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Leone Purvis, and her brothers Charles B. Rutherford, Eugene Rutherford and Herman Purvis.

She is survived by her children, Ray (Tracy) Griffin or Sebring, FL and Leigh (Chris) Spencer of Zolfo Spring, FL. She also has 6 Grandchildren; Trey (Dani) Griffin, Kayla (Joey) DeSimone, Alex (Kelly) Griffin, Kendall Griffin, Sean (Serenity) Souther and Marleigh Souther. As well as 4 Great Grandchildren; Berkley DeSimone, Baylor DeSimone and Briggs DeSimone and Beau Griffin.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 1:00PM – 3:00PM at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, 205 N. 9th Avenue, Wauchula, FL 33873.
