DeSoto- Margaret C. Sparklin, 80, of Arcadia, Florida passed away November 18, 2012. Margaret was born January 12, 1932 in Chester County, Pennsylvania and moved to Arcadia fifteen years ago from Trap Hill, N.C. She was a member of St. Edmund's Episcopal Church. Margaret enjoyed playing the organ and playing the slot machines with her friends. She was involved with the Senior Olympics and was a Gold Medal Swimmer and won many ribbons for her oil paintings of landscapes and stills. She was a very loving mother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed. Margaret is survived by her son, Paul (Karen Prohl) Sparklin, of Newfoundland, daughters; Virginia (Kirk) Simcic, of Arcadia, Florida, Karen (Jeff) Pridham, of Pottstown, PA, sisters; Virginia McClennond, Janet (Tom) Nichols, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sparklin and brothers; Jack and Albert Cook. Arrangements are by Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, Florida.
