Obituary

Marcus E. Morse, age 55, met sunset November 16, 2009 in Zion, IL. where he fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. He died from complications of the disease. Sunrise was October 31, 1954 in Ashtabula, OH. and son to the late Lynn H. and Clarissa Canon Morse. Marcus moved to Southwest Florida in 1969 from Ashtabula, OH. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of New Day Baptist Church, Arcadia. Marcus was known to different people for various things, but his family will remember him for being a loving husband, father and grandfather. Roberta and Marcus celebrated their 30th anniversary while in Zion. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Charlotte and Desoto County, served our country in the US Navy Reserve, a member of the Sheriff s Auxiliary for 4 years, and the Christian Motorcycle Assn. Marcus also loved camping, fishing, muscle cars, riding his Honda motorcycle and eating his southern boiled peanuts. Survivors include his loving wife, Roberta Allgood Morse, of Arcadia, Fl. ,one daughter Jennilen S. Morse of Port Charlotte, FL.,one son, Kyle H. (Jessica) Morse of Arcadia, FL, one brother John (Theresa) Morse, of Arcadia, FL., three sisters, Lynda Lou (James) Pazun of Girard, PA, Linda Lee (Ronald) McNutt of Canton, OH and Donna E. (David) Birchfield of Port Charlotte, FL, mother in law, Betty Jo Allgood or Port Charlotte, FL. Four grand children, Tyler, Ciera, Garrett and Wyatt, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Baby Girl in 1980. Family will be receiving friends on Monday, November 30, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM and Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 9:00 AM until 10:00AM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Memorial Services and a Celebration of Marcus s Life will follow at 10:00AM on Tuesday at the chapel with Rev. Ken Galloway officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery . In lieu of flowers the family request contribution in Marcus s name to Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 2520 Elisha Ave., Zion, IL 60099 or New Day Baptist Church, P. O.
