Lucille Crauswell Mize, age 90, passed away on March 27, 2025, in Arcadia, Florida. She was born in Quinton, Alabama, on June 6, 2025, to James Howard Phillips and Gladys Yates.

She was self-employed as a bookkeeper. Lucille was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Brookwood Alabama. She enjoyed the local history, going to church, and being the treasurer for Pleasant Grove Baptist Assocation.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Leigh (Dr. Jerald McGowin) McGowin from Arcadia Florida. Two grandchildren James Andrew McGowin (Melissa) and Joel Adam McGowin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Howard and Gladys Phillips, her first husband, Brace Jack Crauswell, her second husband, Earl J. Mize, brother James Howard Phillips, and sisters Mary Elizabeth Sides and Marjorie Black.

A Memorial Service will be at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, April 12, at 11:00 am.
