Louise Fernanda Martin, 89, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, in Arcadia. She was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Midway, Pa. Louise had lived in Arcadia for the past 34 years, moving there from Baltimore, Md. She loved to read, and also enjoyed talking, always ready to strike up a conversation. She was talented in oil painting, entering her paintings in county fairs and coming away with a blue ribbon on several occasions. She is survived by her children, John (Susan) Martin of Englewood, Fla., and Margo Rathell of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, who will miss her dearly. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John M. Martin, who passed away Nov. 13, 1993. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia.
