Leslie Boots Roan, Jr., age 81, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away March 26, 2010 in Arcadia. Boots was born March 2, 1929 in Arcadia. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Korean Service Metal, the National Defense Metal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He was retired after 40 years of faithful service from Orange Co. Citrus Corp. , Arcadia, FL. as a grove caretaker. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Arcadia, Fl. Survivors are two brothers; Bobby and Keith Roan both of Arcadia and a sister; Patsy Ruth Roan of Floral City, FL. Boots was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, his parents, Leslie Buck and Ruth Browning Roan, four brothers; Don, Dan, Kenny, and Ted Roan and two sisters; Zoiris Tootsie Roan Sutton and Barbara Roan Davis. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Monday, March 29, 2010 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia FL. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia, FL. The Veterans Honor Guard will render military honors at the graveside.
