Leon Chew, age 58, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 in Sarasota. He was born November 8, 1950 in Dallas, TX moving to Arcadia 22 years ago from Bradenton, Fl. Leon will be greatly missed by his family, which he enjoyed spending much of his time with. He enjoyed reading, long walks, playing his guitar and a friendly game of chess. Leon was a former employee of G. Pierce Wood Hospital. He was survived by one brother, Duon J. Chew of Bradenton, Fl., three sisters, Linda (Quinn) Gow of Yorba Linda, CA, Julia (Stan) Florczak of Hillside, IL. And Rose C. Arrington ( Clarence Polston) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe H. & Mae Yee Chew and sister Pearl Chew. Memorial Services and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 W. Oak Street, Arcadia, Fl with Rev. Jim Wade officiating.
