Mr. Lennie Joe Farmer passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 in Lake Placid, Florida. Lennie was born on September 5, 1945, in Sparta, North Carolina to Claude McNeal Farmer and Alva Cox Farmer. He graduated in 1963 from Piney Creek High School, Piney Creek, North Carolina.
He lived in Highlands County, Lake Placid, for fifteen and a half years and worked as a Civil Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a retired US Air Force member.
He will long be remembered as a loving husband and excellent father. He was also a jokester and a tease, for which he will be fondly remembered!
Lennie enjoyed hiking, biking, jogging and Scuba Diving. He was faithful in his Bible Study. After he suffered a stroke he enjoyed knitting for the church members.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Anna Johnson Farmer. Also, his daughters, Amanda (Hein) Hanekom, residing in Oviedo, Florida and Jayne (Matthew) Pratt residing in Ararat, North Carolina. He is also survived by his brother, Roger M. Farmer and sister, Linda F. Wiles.
He has four Grandchildren, Asher C. Pratt and Amelie E. Pratt, in North Carolina and Henry E. Hanekom and Evelyn C. Hanekom in Oviedo, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his Father Claude McNeal Farmer and his mother Alva Cox Farmer and a nephew Neil.
There will be a graveside service Monday, July 18 th at 10:00AM at Mount Ephraim Cemetery, located at 2865 SW County Rd. 661, Arcadia, Florida 34266.
