Lawrence M. Skaggs, age 64 of Arcadia, passed away January 2, 2011 at Desoto Memorial Hospital. Born in Detroit, Michigan to Earl and Mary Greenfield Skaggs, he moved to Florida in 1989. He was a member of the Pine Level Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, and member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Lawrence is survived by a son Scott Skaggs, a twin brother Michael (Pam) Skaggs; three Sisters, Phyllis Putnam, Naomi Dill, and Frieda Johnson. He is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews throughout the U.S. including Johnny (Ann) Robbins, Donald (Marie) Robbins, Barbara Dubose, Trudy (Byron) Williams, Valerie Bonett, Diana Lynch and Floyd (Ginger) Rice who reside in Florida. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Pine Level Methodist Church at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Friday, January7, 2011 at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home.
