Lawrence I. Buddy Davis, age 67, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 13, 1941 in Sneads, FL and moved to Arcadia 47 years ago. He was of the protestant faith. Buddy will be remembered by his family as very hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He owned and operated L. I. Davis land excavation business in Arcadia for many years. Buddy enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with family on his off time. Buddy served our country in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Ruth D. Davis of Arcadia, Fl., three sons, Lawrence I. (Michelle) Davis, Jr., Lawton I. (Kimberly) Davis and Gary E. (Patience) Davis all of Arcadia, FL., three brothers, Lonnie (Linda) Davis, Roy Lee (Wendy) Davis and Jimmy (Janie) Davis all of Arcadia, FL., two sisters, Ann (Herbert) Carter of Arcadia, FL and Louise (Bill) McCoy of Lakeland, FL., nine grandchildren , one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty Jean Meade and one brother Lash LaRue Davis. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 3:00PM at the chapel with Rev. Jerry Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
