September 23, 1957 – April 19, 2022
Kimberly Alvarez Colding, age 64, a long-time resident of Zolfo Springs, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on April 19, 2022, at Melech Hospice Center in Tampa, Florida, with her loving husband and sister at her side. Kim was born on September 23, 1957, in Fort Myers, Florida, to Carl and Faye Alvarez. She moved to Hardee County at age twelve.
Kim attended and graduated Hardee High School. Kim worked in the Hardee County School District for over twenty years and later became employed with the Rehabilitation Center located at Florida Hospital and continued with the Advent Health Care system in Wauchula as an Activities Coordinator / Case Management where she served for twelve years.
In addition to her love for her family, Kim enjoyed her cows and even naming them, feeding them cookies, and just loved being outdoors. Her son and nephews have many stories about her enjoyment of hunting and fishing with them.
She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Michael "Mike" Colding, son Michael "Mikey" (Mandy) Colding II , of Zolfo Springs, Mother Faye (John) Moseley of Zolfo Springs, Brother Anthony (Vicki) Alvarez of Fort Myers, Sisters Carlene Spiker of Wauchula, and Carmen (Jack) Cochran of Zolfo Springs, Niece Shasta (Stephen) Reeves of Fort Myers, Nephews Shannen (Amy) Ayers of Fort Myers, Justin (Kassie) Spiker of Wauchula, Brandon (Tara) Levi-Spiker of Salisbury, N.C., Jared Cochran of Zolfo Springs, Cody (Leah) Alvarez of Fort Myers, Great Nieces and Nephews; Colby, Cale, Trevor, Chase, Isaac, Gracie, Drea, Aleander, Willow, Gunner, Harrison, Maverick, Walker and Harper. Like a Sister to Donna(Charlie) Scott of Zolfo Springs and Guy Colding of Zolfo Springs.
She is preceded in Death by her Father, Carl Alvarez.
There will be a gathering of Family and Friends on April 26, 2022 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am followed by a celebration of life service at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 205 North 9th Avenue, Wauchula, Florida 33873. Rev Brandon Levi-Spiker and Rev. Charlie Scott will be officiating.
