Kevin Howell Sullivan, 62, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, November 17, 2021.Born July 4, 1959, in Arcadia, he was the son of the late Donald Lavan and Carolyn Ione (Pattishall) Sullivan. He was the brother of the late Carl Lavan Sullivan and Donna Lea Sullivan. Kevin was a patriot who loved his country and his community.
Kevin graduated from DeSoto County High School, Class of 1978. After graduating, he lived his lifetime passion of being a cowboy, managing multiple ranches & breaking horses. Kevin managed a breeding operation with his stud, Lil Hotshot Badger. He also received the Environmentalist Award from the Beefmaster Breeders Association. At just 18 years old, he won the bareback riding event at the Arcadia All Florida Championship Rodeo on the 4 th of July. Kevin loved horses, was an avid gun collector and enjoyed anything involving the outdoors. He will be remembered as a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He also had a great sense of humor and loved playing jokes and pranks on everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jody Boyd Sullivan of Arcadia; sister Cathy Sullivan Gaskins of Arcadia; two sons Dan (Melissa) Sullivan of Arcadia; Matt (Vanessa) Sullivan of Port Charlotte; daughter Jamie (Daniel) Lamb of Lake Wales; five grandchildren Rhylea Sullivan, Cody Sullivan, Piper Sullivan, Lily Lamb and Lyla Lamb; nieces and nephews Lee (Ashley) Killmon, Rowdy Sullivan, Kandice (Chris) Browning, Dustin Sullivan, Calder Boyd and Jordan (Brandon) Dieter. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Services will be 11am Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Fort Ogden, 6831 SW Senate Street, Arcadia, Florida 34266. Burial will be private at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
