Kaycee Lynn (Brown) Mays, 52, of Arcadia, Florida, departed this earth for her heavenly home on June 19, 2026. Born on May 2, 1974, in Fort Myers, Florida, she was the oldest daughter of the late Gary Alec Brown and the late Cheri DeLaney Coleman.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, loyal friend, and a highly effective educator for nearly twenty-seven (26) years in DeSoto County. She dearly loved her husband and four sons, taking great pride in each of them. As an educator, the children she encountered during her career and other life encounters were so much more than special to her; evident not only in her professionalism and concern, but in her participation in the Bulldog Strong Foundation as a charter member.
Kaycee, a Christian of the Methodist faith, is survived by her loving husband Curt Mays and her four sons: Steven Mays of Port Charlotte, FL; George (Emilie) Mays of Fort Worth, TX; Joel Mays of Arcadia, FL; Joeb Mays of Arcadia, FL; Sisters: Staci (Donald) DeLuca of Arcadia, FL; Keri (Dave) Wharton of Punta Gorda, FL; Brother: Gary (McKenzie) Brown, Jr., of Athens, TX; Stepsisters, Danielle (John) Taylor Arcadia, FL; and Stasie Gardner of Daphne, AL; and Stepbrother Bradley Coleman of Fort Ogden, FL.
Her legacy of love and caring will continue through her husband, children, and four beloved grandchildren: Adalynn Rose Contreras-Mays, Angelina Rae Contreras-Mays, Hunter Morazes, and Kaeden Mays.
Kaycee was preceded in death by both of her parents and her bonus father, George H. Coleman.
A Visitation will be held on June 24, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at the Ponger Kay Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 AM. An interment will be at the Pine Level Campground Cemetery during a private service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be offered to the Bulldog Strong Foundation.
