Kay Kujawa Profile Photo

Kay Welles Kujawa, 87, peacefully passed into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Grove City, Ohio.

A multi-generational proud native Floridian, Kay was born and raised in Arcadia, Florida. Graduating from DeSoto County High School in 1956, she went on to attend Florida State University. Throughout her life Kay enjoyed nature, everything Florida, watching the Rays and Bucs, spending quality time with family and friends, and deepening her personal relationship with Christ. A generational member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia, she moved to Siesta Key, Florida in 1999 and regularly attended “God’s Treehouse” there. Well into her late 70’s she could be seen walking the length of Crescent Beach, down to the public beach and back daily. Sunsets were God’s canvas that were cherished daily as well.

Kay is preceded by her beloved husband of more than 40 years, Robert (Bob) Kujawa, and her loving parents, Homer and Kathryn Welles. Her father’s family were established, prominent members of the DeSoto County fabric, while her mother’s family found their way down to DeSoto County courtesy of a horse and wagon to make their imprint on the community for generations to come. Kay is survived by her son, Greg Kujawa, as well as his sons, Kieran, Colin, and Carter. The last nine years she became a full-time resident of Grove City, Ohio to spend precious years with her son and grandchildren. Despite her longing for the memories, sights, and sounds of her home state of Florida.

Services will be held at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia, Florida at 11 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026. With an hour of visitation preceding the services. Followed up by burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to https://Dementia Society of America/ in Kay’s memory
