Kathryn Kay M. Baxter, age 87, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 peacefully at DeSoto Health and Rehab surrounded by her family. She was born November 6, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA., where she met her husband, Bob . They moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1958, where she was employed with Burdines until her retirement in 1984. At that time they moved to Arcadia along with her daughter and her family. She was a special lady that spent all her life loving her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kay enjoyed sewing and crocheting in her spare time. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St Paul s Catholic Church. She is survived by and will always be missed by her three daughters, Carol (Alan) Jones of Arcadia, Fl., Teri (Tom) McCool of Arcadia, Fl. and Diane (John) Apley of Warren, MI. Nannie was loved by all her grandchildren, Tim Jones of Arcadia and Ohio, Robin (Chris) Segroves-Davidson, Kimberly Jones, Ryan McCool, Amy (Jamie) McCool-Barber, all of Arcadia, Fl. and Bob Copp, Cheryl Darcy and Cathy Steward of MI. She was very close and loved by her great grandchildren, Brendon, Amanda Segroves, Nicole Segroves, Megan Jones, Parker Jones, Brittany and Julieanne McCool-Barber all of Arcadia and Timmy and Lilley Jones of Ohio. She also had nine other great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild in Michigan. She had become Nannie to many children other than family and she loved them all. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Bob F. Baxter and her parents John George and Mary Anna Baxter. There will be a Celebration of Kay s Life and a gathering of family and close friends Monday June 8, 2009 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the family home located at 6346 NE Thomas Drive, Arcadia, Fl.
