Obituary

June Wooten Thomas, 84, of Arcadia, passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2025.  She was born on June 14, 1941, in Lakeland, Georgia, to the late Robert and Retha Wooten.

June was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  June lived a life centered on faith, family, and love.  She was a member of the Upper Room Church of God, where her faith guided her throughout her years.  She found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.  She was happiest sitting on her front porch, sharing stories, laughter, and love with those around her.  Her warmth and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew and loved her.

June is survived by her sons, Guy (Brenda) Ford of Tampa; Timmy Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, and, Daniel Thomas, all of Arcadia.  Her legacy will continue through the host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a soon to be great-great granddaughter - Stacy Ford, Jordyn, Tristen, and Neely; Michelle Thomas; James (Jorgia) Thomas, Patience, and Hudson; Megan (Brandon) Bierman, Alona (Jed) Strader, Annalise June, Elijah, Bradon, Jolene;  Ryan Thomas, Eli, Dakota, and Grayson; Brandon (Esperanza) Thomas, Paighton, and Bubba; Ashley Thomas, Ashton, and Zack; Harley (Brian) Boden,  Brooklynn, and Emmett, Jamie, Brittany; all of whom she dearly loved and cherished.  She is also survived by her brother, Bill (Pam) Wooten of Jacksonville, FL; and, a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.  June will be greatly missed by each and every one of them and will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Retha Wooten; her husband, James Rawlis Thomas; her son, Gary Thomas; her granddaughter, Amanda Thomas; and, her three sisters, Marilyn Carden, Mary Wood, and Shirley Johnston.

A graveside Celebration of Life will be held for family members only at a later date to gather in remembrance and to celebrate June's life and honor her memory.

Rest in peace, June Carol.  Your laughter, love, and memory will live on in our hearts forever.
