June Hansen Clemons

(June 22, 1939 – February 5, 2022)

Mrs. June Hansen Clemons, 82, went to her heavenly home on February 5, 2022. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful Christian who loved the Lord.

June was born to Henry Hansen and Loleita Unruh on June 22, 1939, in Split Rock, Minnesota. She was one of three children and spent her childhood in Minnesota until she married her lifelong partner, Robert "Bob" Clemons. June accompanied Robert on his travels throughout his time in the United States Air Force, living in England and Tampa before settling in Arcadia in 1969. It was here that they raised their 5 children together.

June worked at the Arcadia Drug Store for over 20 years and her grandchildren have fond memories of visiting her after school to pick out their favorite treat from "Memaw". After the Arcadia Drug Store closed, June went to work for the DeSoto County School District as a Teacher's Aide. She loved working with children and her generous heart and kind spirit impacted the lives of many students.

June's unwavering faith in God is the foundation upon which she built her life. She was a talented cook and seamstress and felt honored to be able to serve others with these gifts. June cooked dinner every Wednesday evening for the Kings Club children's ministry at her church. She also enjoyed sewing and could often be found tucked away in her sewing room working on her latest project for a friend or family member.

June's greatest treasure was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially loved getting together to celebrate family birthdays with a home cooked meal and ice cream cake. June had a joyful spirit and a genuine love for people and will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.

June is survived by 2 children – Lois Clemons (Bobby) Heine, and James Forest (Debbie) Clemons; 9 grandchildren – Robert Clemons, Richard (Erica) Clemons, Ryan Clemons, Angela Brown, Vickie (Anthony) Penley, Shannan (Mike) Kennedy, Kimberly (Will) Tyson, Amy Heine, and Andy Heine. She also leaves behind 3 sisters in law – Mary Lou McClelland, Pam McEwen, and Nellie Clemons and 10 great grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her husband Robert; 3 children – Robert Henry (Gerri) Clemons, Donna Jo (Barry) Brown, and Linda Mae Clemons and 2 brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The First Church of the Nazarene, Arcadia, FL on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children's Ministry at The First Church of the Nazarene – 132 W. Gibson Street, Arcadia, FL 34266.
