The family later relocated to South Florida in the 1950s. Joyce married Robert Baker in 1964 and had four children during their marriage. On February 14, 1980, Joyce married Jerry Hunter from Okeechobee, Florida and they began their journey together, which lasted up until the time of her passing. Joyce had a passion for Florida agriculture. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts.
