Jose Afredo Merlo, Age-56 of Arcadia, FL passed away on February 2 ^nd , 2022, at his residence. Jose was born on April 15 ^th , 1965, in Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico and worked as a landscaper at DeSoto Nursery. His greatest accomplishments are his family, his 33-year marriage two, children and one grandchild and being a successful businessman here in Arcadia. He attended St. Pauls Catholic Church. Jose enjoyed watching classic vintage movies, working on home projects, enjoying nature and enjoying a beer relaxing and listening to Oldie's music. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife and family whom he dearly loved. He will be remembered as a hardworking, good humored and loving person.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Luz Elena Merlo, two children: Erik Merlo (Annette Franco) of North Port, FL and Jose Merlo Jr ( Skyelar Pifer) of North Port, FL. He is survived by 10 siblings: Enrique, Miguel, Baldemar, Noe, Jaime, Ana, Salvador, Carina, Rebecca and Elena Merlo. Jose is also survived by one grandchild.

A viewing will be held on Thursday February 10 ^th from 5-7pm at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 50 North Hillsborough Avenue. A mass of Christian will be celebrated on Friday February 11 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Arcadia.
