Obituary

John B. Strange, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on December 15, 1942, in Three Rivers, MI., where he spent his early years before making Acadia, FL, his home.

John was a dedicated family man who cherished his wife, Janice Strange, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Their love and commitment were an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they created a beautiful legacy, raising 11 children, blessing them with 22 grandchildren, and welcoming 12 great-grandchildren into the world.

After graduating from Sturgis High School on June 7, 1964, he went to Lamar Barber College where he graduated from in 1965. Later owned his own barber shop, called Barry's Barber Shop, and later embarked on a successful career in the hospitality-retail industry. He was known for his warm and welcoming demeanor, ensuring that every guest felt at ease and cared for.

John found solace and joy in nature, particularly the majestic mountains. He loved spending time outdoors, embracing the beauty of the world around him. His adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature were reflected in his favorite quote, "what do you want, egg in your beer."

John B. Strange will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His love for his family, unwavering dedication, and kind heart will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May his soul find eternal peace in the embrace of the mountains he treasured and the memories he cherished.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
