John K. Perkins, age 49, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 in North Fort Myers, FL. He was born January 24, 1962 in Miami, FL. and moved to Arcadia 24 years ago from Ocala, FL. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Brownville Baptist Church of Arcadia. Before a lengthy illness, John spent his working career as an automotive mechanic in Arcadia. John enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motor cycle. John served our Country in the National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife Cathy Nailer Perkins of Arcadia, FL.; three sons Michael Carter of North Port, FL., Stephen Carter of Arcadia, FL. and Thomas Carter of Ocala, FL; his father John J. Perkins of Milton, FL., mother Sylvia Gonzalez of Ocala, FL; one sister Jenny Perkins of Missouri; five grandchildren Zane, Jasmine, Bethany, Bella and Brody; one niece and one nephew. A visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00AM at Brownville Baptist Church, 7015 NE Cubitis (US 17), Arcadia. with Pastor Mathew Roberts officiating.
