John Bruce Kamberg, age 63, passed away, September 14, 2011 in Port Charlotte, FL. John was born in Omaha, NE, February 20, 1948. He moved to Arcadia 35 years ago from Miami, FL. John was an entrepreneur. He was instrumental in bringing business s into DeSoto County, the Burger King restaurant and the Desoto Auto Wash just to name a couple of his enterprises. John was a rancher and citrus man. He was a former member of the Arcadia Rodeo Association. John enjoyed spending quality time with his family and loved being a grandfather to his five grandchildren. John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia, Arcadia, FL. Survivors are his beloved wife; Heather T. Kamberg, Arcadia, FL, one son, Christopher (Jennifer), Arcadia, FL and a daughter, Karen (Barry) Carothers, Palm City, FL, five grandchildren, Benjamin Kamberg, Matthew Kamberg, and John Kamberg, all of Arcadia, FL and Alison Carothers and Katharine Carothers of Palm City, FL. John also leaves to mourn his passing; four cousins, Ginger Carter, Pleasant Hill, MO, Ken Kamberg, Olathe, KS, Vicki Swartz, St. Charles, IL, and Ricki Gilbert, So. Batrrington, IL. John is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Frances Kamberg. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Friday evening, September 16, 2011 at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home chapel, 50, No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia with Dr. Ted Land officiating.
