John D. Finley, age 73, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Arcadia, FL. He was born July 13, 1938 In Manhattan, NY and moved to Arcadia 35 years ago from Sarasota, FL. John was of the Catholic faith. John was an architectural hardware consultant and worked with contractors throughout Florida and Georgia. John was the project manager for numerous commercial construction projects including hospitals and prisons throughout Florida and Georgia, and the Disney project. He continued on a consultant basis because of his vast knowledge in the industry, until 2008. John was a member of the American Society of Architectural Hardware Consultants, and served our Country in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife Sandra Worley Finley of Arcadia, FL.; two sons John D (Laura) Finley, II and Garry Finley both of Arcadia, FL.; one daughter Stephanie Durie of Arcadia, FL; and four grandchildren: Justin O Neil, Tristan Durie, Cole Finley and Tara Finley and numerous nieces , nephews and cousins. John is preceded in death by his parents Garrett and Ruth Flynn Finley and sister Barbara Rueger and brother in law Fred Rueger. Memorial celebration of John s life will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Old Worley Place, 3913 SW Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, FL.
