Obituary

John M. Corbo, 82 of Arcadia passed away on March 20th at home. He was born in Schenectady, NY on November 13, 1941, to Joseph and Josephine Corbo. The family moved to Florida in 1944. John joined the US Marines in 1958 and retired in 1978. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Krame.

John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra Cater Corbo, daughter Robyn Jordan (Doug) of Sarasota, sons Steven Carter (Melissa) of Tremont, ME, and Daniel Carter (Amanda) of Smithfield, ME, sister Claudia Stiffler (Carl) of Port Charlotte, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

John was predeceased in death by his son John A. Corbo, and great granddaughter Josi Ann Degado.

John was a lifetime member of Amvets Post 60, VFW Post 4300, and an annual member of Moose Lodge 1327.

Internment at Sarasota National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later announced date.

In Lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be given to the American Cancer Society.
