Janie Autry Kohr, age 89, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Vivo Health Care in Wauchula. Janie was born August 29, 1934, in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Herbert Earl Autry and Montry Opal Lewis Autry.

Janie and her family moved to Wauchula when she was very young. Janie graduated from Hardee High School with her twin sister, Joan, both were very active in sports. They loved basketball. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, crafts and art, pets, especially cats.

Janie was a CNA, and she was a Christian, she loved caring for people in their homes. She enjoyed time with family and friends. Her best friend being her identical twin sister, Joan Autry Terrell. Janie's pride and joy was her daughter, Montry Lambert Thompson.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Kohr, parents Herbert and Montry Autry and her twin sister, Joan Autry Terrell.

She is survived by her daughter, Montry Lambert Thompson (Spencer), grandson Trever Thompson (Tiffany), Trena Thompson Morris (Zach) Two great grandchildren, Alana Bond, Ethan Thompson, nephews, Edward Terrell Jr. (Teresa), Richard Terrell (Laurie), Niece Linda Terrell Oldham (Tim) and many great nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 10:00AM-11:00AM at Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel at 205 N. 9th Avenue Wauchula, Florida. The service will follow at 11:00AM with Rev. Sherry White.
