Janie
Branscomb
February 15, 1980 – June 17, 2023
Elsie Jane Martin Branscomb
Feb 1980 - June 17, 2023
"She was an old soul with a young heart.
She was grounded but soared free.
She'd felt weak but was so strong.
She'd lived through pain but smiled more than not.
She was a paradox."
-Anonymous
Janie was a sweet, old soul with a spunk and fire unlike any. The oldest of four girls, she set an example to all she met. Janie always had a smile on her face and loved to joke around and play pranks on everyone.
She was a very talented athlete playing softball, volleyball, and cheerleading, and was up for any kind of adventure. She loved to travel and has been to so many incredible places. She loved baseball and Country music and really took it to heart when she and Nic started their very own Sandlot Ranch, Yankee Stadium seats and all.
Janie has always protected those she loved, but becoming a mother created a whole new way to love, with a fierce passion to guide and fight for her babies. She was greatly comforted by her strong testimony and love for her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Janie fought a valiant battle with cancer for almost six years. Her bright smile will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Nic Branscomb; their four children, Sophi Jo, Oliver, Jacson, and Betsi; her parents, Jeff and Jolene Martin; her three sisters, Jandi, Jacki (Clay Murphy), and Jacey (Jason Goates); her grandfather, Jack Gunn; and many nieces and nephews who absolutely adored her. She is preceded in death by her Grandmother, Carol Gunn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 24, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse 630 Hanchey Rd, Wauchula, Florida 4:30-6:00 PM, with a viewing prior 3:00-4:00 PM. NO BURIAL SERVICES AT THIS TIME.
There will be a celebration of life at Friendship Park 5701 S Fashion Blvd Murray, Utah Saturday July 1, 2023 5:00-7:00 PM.
In remembrance of Janie's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to LESLIE'S WEEK (lesliesweek.org) or Camp Kesem (donate.kesem.org).
LESLIE'S WEEK gifts a week away from cancer to stage 4 breast cancer women and their families where they create memories that outlast cancer in a celebration of life. Camp Kesem provides summer camps for children who have a parent with a cancer diagnosis or have lost a parent to cancer.
