Janice Marie (Viaches) Flewelling, age 69, passed away of complications following surgery on January 5, 2022 while wintering in Arcadia, FL. She was born in Lansing, MI to the late Arnold Edward "Jeff" Viaches and Rosalie Frances Kobus. She graduated from Bath High School in 1970 where she was on the eight-semester Honor Roll and attended Lansing Community College where she was in the Court Reporting Program. She worked for Lansing City Hall in the Traffic Violations Department and in 1973 began working for Motor Wheel Corporation. She hired into All State Management as an Administrative Assistant where she worked until her retirement.

On November 20, 1978 Janice married Raymond Arnold "Pete" Flewelling and became step-mother to his four children. In 1985 the couple settled in the Village of Bath where they have resided since that time. She was an avid bowler with a high game of 248 and a series high of 598 and she loved to golf, shooting consistently in the low-50's. She and Pete joined a Billiard League at the American Legion in Bath in 1992. Jan was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Bath for many years, serving as President for one year and as Junior Vice President of the Auxiliary from 1998-2010. Janice loved prime rib, reading romance novels and murder/mysteries and watching TV game shows on the Game Show Network and especially The Price is Right. She was a huge fan of MSU football and basketball. She also enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables, playing euchre, casino gambling and surfing the Internet. She and Pete became snowbirds in 2014 when they bought a trailer in a retirement community in Arcadia, Florida where they wintered each year.
