James R. Todd, Sr. age 78, passed away in Russell Springs, Ky, March 12, 2009. He was born in Pa., Aug. 16, 1930, while his parents were on vacation. He was brought to Fl. three weeks later. James was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army, and a lifelong commercial fisherman. He loved fishing and shrimping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors are his son James (Maureen) Todd, Jr. Russell Springs, Ky, daughters Marie Ostrander and Virginia Freeman, both of Englewood, Fl. He also leaves a sister-in-law Frances Todd, , Irvington, Al. ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Amelia in 2006 a son George Raymond Todd in 2004. and a brother George Hoover Todd. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel. 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday , March 18, 2009 from Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
