James D. Jimmy McCormick, age 53, passed away December 3, 2011 in Tampa, FL. Jimmy was born in Titusville, FL August 13, 1958. He moved to Punta Gorda, FL 18 years ago from Arcadia, FL. Jimmy loved outdoors activities, operating his airboat, camping, fishing, and cookouts. He was raised near the St. John s River, where he spent his childhood fishing and boating Jimmy was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors are his beloved wife, Ann McCormick, Punta Gorda, FL, three brothers, Tom and Doug McCormick, both of Arcadia, and Brad (Angela) Shirley, North Port, FL, and two sisters; Margaret Gonzales, Arcadia, FL and Melissa (James) Mackey, Texas, and his step-father, Milton Shirley, Arcadia, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, William M.McCormick and Betty J. Shirley.
