Irvin E. Moore, age 75, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away Aug. 22, 2008 in Port Charlotte, Fl. He was born Feb. 14, 1933 in Bartow, Fl. and moved to Arcadia 51 years ago from Bartow. He was a grocery store manager for Table Supply, Quick Check, R.V S. Foodway , R.B. s Foodway,Smiling Jack s, and Food Lion. Irvin graduated from Summerlin Institute (Bartow High School) class of 1952 He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Peace River Post 2824, Arcadia, Fl. Irvin loved people, always willing to give aid and assistance whenever he perceived a need. He loved his family dearly. He loved his Lord, Jesus Christ and lived for Him in his daily walk. He was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Survivors are his beloved wife, Doris R. Moore, Arcadia, a son Kenneth Moore, Arcadia, two daughters, Karen (Bob) Smith, Ocala, Fl. a daughter Kathy Bement, Arcadia and a daughter-in-law Diane Moore, Wauchula, Fl. He also leaves a sister, Erlene (Lee) Hunt, Bartow, Fl. and eight grandchildren, Robert (Susan) Smith, Tamara (Greg) Harp, Kristy Scott, Kelly (Wes) Soria, Taylor Hezlitt, Christopher Moore, Richard Moore, and Olivia Moore, and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6PM til 8PM Aug. 26, 2008,at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl.. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 from the Arcadia First Baptist Church, Arcadia, Fl. with Rev. Richard Englert officiating. Burial will be at 4:30PM Wednesday, at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow, Fl. Military honors will be rendered by the DeSoto Co. Honor Guard at the cemetery.
