Irene A. Rios age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2023. She was born in Pescadito, Texas, on July 8, 1936, to Cruz Almaguer and Juanita Salazar. She had lived in this community for 47 years.

She was a Christian lady and part of the Iglesia Cristiana Patco De Fe.

Irene was a housewife and mother who loved caring for her family.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and shopping for clothes and jewelry.

She was married to her loving husband Ernesto Rios, Sr. for 62 years. She will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother. She always had a smile on her face and would always find ways to help her family "no matter what". She also loved to laugh and joke around.

She is survived by her children; Armando and Dalia Rios of Ruskin, Florida, Gilbert Rios of Arcadia, Florida, Sylvia and Lupe Moya of San Antonio, Texas, Linda Rios and Gustavo Mercado of Arcadia, Florida, Yolanda Rios of Arcadia, Florida, Elisa Rios and Carlos Palomares of Ruskin, Florida, Rachel and Nick Cruz of Arcadia, Florida, Veronica and Sam Soria of Ruskin, Florida, and Ernest Lee and Agripina Rios of Arcadia, Florida. She is also survived by her sisters, Albina (Juan) Aguilar, Gracie (the late Joel) Fuentes, Erma (the late Andres) Alonzo, and Gloria (Martin) Buitron all of Robstown, Texas. She also had 34 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cruz Almaguer and Juanita Salazar Almaguer, her husband Ernesto Rios, Sr., her sons Gerry Rios and Ernesto Rios Jr.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, Florida. The Service will follow at 11:00AM with Rev. Delmar Fuentes officiating. Burial will follow at the Wauchula City Cemetery.
