Howard H, Halsey, age 86, of Arcadia, Fl. passed away December 15, 2009 in Port Charlotte, Fl. Howard was born September 18, 1923 in Morton, Pa. Howard was a winter visitor from West Chester, PA. for several years, making Arcadia his home the last three years. Howard was an educator. He graduated from Williamson Trade School, Media, PA., class of 1943. Howard was also a graduate of U. of PA. He began his career as a high school carpenter teacher, retiring after 31 years of service. Howard worked for FEMA 21 years, after his retirement. He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in the Pacific and the American Theater. Howard was of the Presbyterian faith, attending the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia. Survivors are a son; Howard H. Halsey, Jr. Lancaster, PA., two daughters, Joe-Anne (Kevin) Corwin, Penobscot, ME., and Judithann (Glen) DeCray, Exton, PA. He also leaves a granddaughter; Jennifer (Duane) Kenney, Claymont, DE. Howard also leaves a special friend Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ada Harper Halsey.
