Desoto- Horace C. Earnest, 69, of Arcadia, FL passed away April 24, 2013. Horace was born December 29, 1943 in Arcadia and has resided in Desoto County all but 7 years of his life, when he lived in Alabama. Horace was a Butcher by trade. He enjoyed fishing, horses, cattle and family gatherings. Horace was a loving husband, brother and friend. He was of the Baptist faith. Horace is survived by his wife, Marcella "Marcie" Earnest, of Arcadia, FL, brothers; Walter (Thelma) Earnest of Arcadia, FL, Gerald (Shirley) Earnest, of Graceville, FL, Donald (Ethel) Earnest of Zolfo Springs, FL and Clifton Earnest of Arcadia, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; Rev. E.T. and Carlie Barwick Earnest and brother, Edwin Earnest. Visiting hours will be from 11:30 am -12:30 pm at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, FL on Saturday, April 27, 2013. A Graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Gardner Cemetery.
