Horace Whitman Clanton (Whitey) age 95, passed away Wednesday April 3, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Arcadia, Florida on January 24, 1929, to Carl and Marie Clanton.

He had lived in this area for 54 years, was a self-employed Contractor. He will be remembered by his family as a wonderful and loving family man and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and growing flowers.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jretha Herst Clanton, his parents' Carl M Clanton and Marie Whitman Clanton.

He is survived by his children, Bruce Alan (Frances) Clanton of Bushnell, Florida and Gerald Wayne (Pam) Clanton of Bowling Green, Florida. There are also nine grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Pelletier of Stanford, Maine, Krystal Clanton of Bushnell, Florida, Shawn (Eli) Baxter-Clanton of Lakeland, Florida, Tiffany Clanton of Sarasota, Florida, Stephanie Clanton of Zolfo Springs, Florida, Kyle Clanton of Zolfo Springs, Florida, Tiffany ( Scott) Reiher of Jefferson, Georgia, Paige Avery of Bowling Green, Florida and Jonathon Avery of Bowling Green, Florida, and fourteen greatgrandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews that will miss him.

The visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Wauchula from 10:30AM-11:00AM. Graveside Service to follow at 11:30am at New Hope Cemetery
