Dr. Herbert Clark Lloyd, Sr., 82, of Arcadia, Florida passed away July 6, 2011. Born April 06, 1929 in Okeechobee, Florida, he was the son of the late Nash Dennis Lloyd and Arlee Rogers Lloyd. A lifelong Florida resident, he married his childhood sweetheart, Jeanne Hooker Lloyd in 1952. Dr. Lloyd was a United States Army Lieutenant and a Korean War Veteran. Dr. Lloyd graduated from the University of Florida, as well as Auburn University. He was a member of Florida Veterinary Medical Association, charter member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and practiced veterinary medicine in the state of Florida for over forty-five years. In 1990 Dr. and Mrs.Lloyd spent a year as Peace Corps volunteers in Morocco. Subsequently, as a volunteer missionary for Christian Veterinary Missions (CVM), Dr. Lloyd served over a decade with Honduras Outreach missions, and volunteered with CVM around the world, serving in Asia and Africa as well as South America A member of the 1st Baptist Church, Arcadia, FL, Herbert Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jeanne Hooker Lloyd, two daughters, Arlene Han, Cape Coral, FL, and Jeannie Williams of Rock Hill, SC; two sons, Herbert Clark Lloyd, Jr. Dillsboro, NC, and Tim Lloyd, Arcadia; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Adams, of Riverdale, FL, and a brother, Judson Lloyd, of Lighthouse Point, Florida. The family of Dr. Herbert Lloyd will receive friends, Sunday July 10, from 4-6 pm at Ponger Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 North Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Monday, July 11, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Arcadia, Florida.
