Helen Yelvington Harrison, age 87, passed away November 24, 2008 in Arcadia. She was born September 23, 1921 in Arcadia and was a lifetime resident. Helen graduated Florida Southern College with a Masters Degree in Education, was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), United Daughters of the Confederacy, Palmetto Library Club, and the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia. Helen also enjoyed fishing, boating gardening in her yard and treasured time with her family. She is survived by one son John C. (Sharon) Harrison of Myakka City, Fl., three grandchildren, Jacob C. Harrison, Pine Level, Fl., Caleb D. Harrison of Myakka City, Fl. and Heather Harrison of New York and one great-grandchild, Jordan Caleb Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence M. Harrison, Jr., son Wade Hampton Harrison and parents Dr. E.J and Clara Yelvington . Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Friday, November 28, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia, 209 W, Hickory St., Arcadia, Fl. with Dr. Ted W. Land officiating.
