Harold E Childress, age 81, of Haslet, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

He was born November 28, 1944, in Fort Meade FL, a son of the late Harold A Childress and Flossie Smith Childress.

Harold proudly served his country in the National Guard and was honorably discharged as an E6. He worked at ALCOA in Ft Meade FL. and later earned his master electrician license and started his own business, Childress Electric. He enjoyed watching his beloved Florida Gators, hunting, fishing, golf, cookouts and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Irene Winegard Childress, one brother Ronnie Childress and three sisters, Julia Tice, Shirley Gobble and Margaret Grandmont.

Harold is survived by his daughter Rachelle Childress of Haslet, Texas, daughter Shana McNeal and husband Chris McNeal of Rhome, Texas. Three brothers, Donnie Childress and wife Carol of Bartow FL; Gary Childress and wife Kay of Fort Meade FL.; Paul Childress and wife Lorraine of NC. One sister Virginia Williams of Bartow, FL., two grandsons, Dakota and Dawson McNeal of Rhome, Tx., and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6th at Corinth Cemetery in Fort Meade Fl. With pastor Donald Roberts officiating
